Marvel's Midnight Suns Captain Marvel Gameplay Breakdown

Marvel's Midnight Suns Captain Marvel Gameplay Breakdown ...

Marvels Midnight Suns is a fairly straightforward tactical RPG with social components built into it. This is still true, but each of the game's gameplay demos has also revealed how diverse each character is thus far, with plenty of mechanics and strategies for players to consider that may also be uniquely advantageous to certain characters. For example, Spider-Man utilizes Bind properties and environmental interaction, while Doctor Strange is a support character that can heal, cure, and conceal other members of the players' party.

Carol Danvers Captain Marvel is now featured in Marvels Midnight Suns first female gameplay showcase, which is again offered by YouTuber Christopher Odd in collaboration with developer Firaxis and publisher 2K. Marvel is well-known for her combat, as well as her dedicated meters.

Captain Marvel Has a Unique Meter for Her Only Character

Captain Marvel of Marvel's Midnight Suns is one of the few" characters who has a meter specific to them. The meter is composed of three bars below her health, and once fully filled players may use her Captain Marvels Go Binary heroic card.

Captain Marvel receives a binary and 102 Block as part of the Go Binary heroics, which is also free of charge.

Captain Marvel is incredibly powerful as long as she maintains Block. Many of her abilities may also apply Taunt, such as her Knee Strike attack card, which will increase Block in proportion to damage dealt. However, Taunt may also be receiving and administering damage frequently.

Captain Marvels Regroup skill card increases her Block, and upon upgrading, it may also recover a portion of her health and apply Cure on redraw. It also appears to be straightforward to build up since it only requires card plays to guide the characters' gameplay in Marvels Midnight Suns tactical RPG.

In Marvels Midnight Suns, Captain Marvel introduces counterattacks.

Taunt will draw attention to Captain Marvel and potentially sacrifice her amassed Block, but she has additional weapons of attack that make her worthwhile. Introduced in Captain Marvels gameplay showcase is a Counter mechanic that seems to play heavily on her strengths as a cosmic brawler in Marvel's Midnight Suns.

The counter is nicely described, in which incoming assaults will be automatically reciprocated, and this effect is remarkable for an entire turn. If she is being targeted, for example, the Cosmic Ray attack card is fantastic.

If the cards are used consistently, Captain Marvel will gain one Counter, as well as a percentage chance to apply Stun. Further, Captain Marvel's Didnt Feel a Thing passive ability is oriented around Counters, as it only grants one Counter per turn, especially if the passive ability is upgraded at Marvel's Midnight Suns' Abbey.

Because so much of her gameplay consists of Taunt and Block, it might not be feasible to have both Captain Marvel and Captain America in a Marvels Midnight Suns party together as both benefit from hoarding aggro. Counter appears to be overpowered once Captain Marvel has enough damage built up from Binary, but she may still need a boost from other resources to maintain high damage outputs.

In Marvel's Midnight Suns, Captain Marvel is a single-target Bruiser.

Captain Marvel is a heavy-hitter on her own when it comes to single targets. That said, the cost may be great to pay as much damage as she can muster. For example, Captain Marvel's Rain of Blows heroic card consumes all heroism and consumes all block. Thus, Captain Marvel's output is only as powerful as players can make it via Marvel's Midnight Suns' many status effects and resources.

Rain of Blows is a powerful card to use if players have a lot of heroism, but it also depletes her power completely after she upgraded, particularly if she had her Binary effect activated beforehand. It's very likely that the cards used will always result in a KO depending on how much heroism the player has accumulated.

Rain of Blows will be their choice whether or not they keep Rain of Blows until Bin is no longer inactive in Marvels Midnight Suns, since they do not have much Block to waste on it.

Captain Marvel's Supernova heroic damage each enemy in an area, and that AoE can be increased as the card is upgraded, with Resist preventing all damage from the next damaging blow.

Marvels Midnight Suns is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S until October 7.
