Is Boimler from Star Trek the Same Character as Hughie from the Boys?

Is Boimler from Star Trek the Same Character as Hughie from the Boys? ...

Several new Star Trek announcements were announced during the recent San Diego Comic-Con event, which took place between Thursday, July 21 and Sunday, July 24, 2022. As so many have noted, the original cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation will be together again. Thanks to a new trailer, fans got a glimpse of what this will be like.

Patrick Stewart (Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Riker), LeVar Burton (Geordi), Michael Dorn (Worf), and Gates McFadden (Crusher) will star in Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard, which will run until the end of the series.

The world collectively gasped whenWilliam Shatner said that he thought Trek creator Gene Roddenberry would disapprove of the newer series. Since then, folks like Rod Roddenberry have pushed back on this opinion. Meanwhile,Trek boss Alex Kurtzman speculates on the possible return of Deep Space Nine to television.

Lower Decks in Person

One of the most exciting announcements from SDCC was that some of the Star Trek: Lower Decks crew would be reintroduced to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. While fans do know what some of the Lower Decks characters will be like in live action, it's possible that a few actors wore costumes at the April 2022 Star Trek: Mission Chicago convention.

Tawny Newsome (Mariner) and Jack Quaid (Boimler) wore a purple wig and an official Starfleet uniform to become Brad Boimler. At the same time, Newsome did not need a colorful wig to be Beckett Mariner.

If you're not sure how this will work, don't worry. Even Strange New Worlds star Anson Mount has a few questions. Witney Seibold's recent SlashFilm article discusses Mount's thoughts on this crossover:

Mount said, I thought it would be Roger Rabbit, but I can tell you that. I was like, are there going to be animated characters running around, following us around? How? Are they going to be small, or are they going to be big? Then [showrunner] Akiva [Goldman]s like, No, thats not what they were doing. And once they explained it to me, I was like, Oh, that's kind of brilliant, the way it's done.

Quaid on The Boys

Fans will be able to see Boimler and Mariner played by the actors who voice them for the first time in live-action. That means Quaid will have to be silly and scared in front of the camera rather than just in front of a microphone. Boimler will have to play the kid brother who everyone loves on Strange New Worlds, possibly wearing a purple wig.

Quaid's primary character is Wee Hughie, who also plays a kid brother in the Amazon Prime series, The Boys. That version of The Boys was dubbed Wee Hughie because he did not have superpowers and needed to be saved many times.

Hughie is also without powers (except for a few episodes in Season 3) and needs to be protected from the villains from his super-girlfriend,Starlight (actress Erin Moriarty)

Quaid Screaming as Boimler

Jack Quaid (@JackQuaid92) will be married on October 6, 2021.

Boimler is not only a book-savvy, but also a street-wise person who can be seen screaming his head off in horror, according to a writer, Quaid. So often do Boimler fans ask him about his scream that he decided to include one on his Twitter feed.

Quaid Screaming as Hughie

If Quaid brought his The Boys co-star, Karl Urban, to the Enterprise, it might be like seeing Hughie in Starfleet.
