As filming for series 4 begins, Bad Education teases the first look at the program ...

The fourth episode of Bad Education is out, with Abbey Grove School's finest (we use that term loosely) pictured on set together.

Stephen Carmichael (reprised by Layton Williams) and Mitchell Harper (Charlie Wernham) are back on the scene, this time as Drama and PE teachers flanked by a fresh load of mischief makers.

Usma (Asha Hassan), "wannabe roadman" Inchez (Anthony J Abraham), "himbo" Harrison (Bobby Johnson), "clueless slacktivist" Jinx (Laura Marcus), "eccentric" Warren (Ali Hadji-Heshmati) and "energetic hustler" Blessing (Francesca Amewudah-Rivers).

Former pupils Ste and Mitchell learn to accept their new roles during a six-part series, while control freak headteacher Ms Hoburn (Johnny English Strikes Again's Vicki Pepperdine)looms large.

As HR battles to fire him, Hoburn's predecessor, Mr Fraser (Gavin & Stacey's Mathew Horne), and his shady bravado continue to mingle around the school kitchen.

Williams said of his character's purgatorial situation: "Stephen's quest for stardom didn't quite go as planned, and he's back at Abbey Grove 'teaching' drama!

"I'm so excited for people to see Mr Carmichael, the new Class K!" "We're having so much fun on set, I think you'll all be in for a treat!"

Mitchell has grown up, found a missus, and is expecting a child, but in some ways he's still a lovely big kid himself.'

Alfie Wickers, from Jack Whitehall's hopeless Jack Whitehall, will return to the school grounds for a one-off Bad Education Christmas special this year.

In early 2023, the fourth series of Bad Education will be released on BBC Three.
