Golden Guardians will bring two regular starters in mid-laner Ablazeolive and support Olleh back to the LCS stage this weekend, according to the team on Twitter today. With just three League of Legends games left on the regular season schedule for Golden Guardians, the team is returning to full-force in an effort to make one last push for a postseason spot.

As Golden Guardians experimented with Academy-level talent in the starting lineup, Ablazeolive and Olleh both missed week seven of the LCS Summer Split.

For week seven of the LCS Summer Split, backups mid-laner Lider and support Prismal were added to the Golden Guardians' lineup. However, the team lost both of its games due to the pair of players on stage.

Golden Guardians said in a tweet made on August 11, that this iteration will bring us the best level of performance leading into the final week of the regular split.

Over the last two weeks, Ablazeolive has competed with the Guardians Academy team during the LCS Summer 2022 Proving Grounds, but Olleh has not played a game on the LCS stage since the Golden Guardians' defeat to TSM on July 31.

Golden Guardians made an effort to honor Prismals' performance with the team over the last week. The team expressed their gratitude to him, and said they wish to give him more opportunities to play on the LCS stage in the future.

The coaching staff was impressed by how Prismal responded to the offer of playing both in LCS practice and on stage, according to the team in its statement. We have continued to assist him in developing into a successful LCS supporter with more experience.

In the Golden Guardians release, no mention of Liders' future with the club was made.

Danan Flander, the Golden Guardians' General Manager, was dismissed earlier this week after four seasons with the organization. Flander made an effort to strengthen the Golden Guardians' lineup heading into a possible stretch run by approving a trade deadline to add jungler River, but the team has failed to win a game since the trade.

Despite Golden Guardians' current six-game losing run, the club has a chance to compete in the Summer Split playoffs. As is tradition for the LCS Summer Split, the playoffs expand to eight teams, meaning all but two teams will advance to the LCS Championship. Currently, Golden Guardians is tied with Immortals for the final playoff berth after holding identical records of 4-11 during the first 15 games.

Golden Guardians will play games against championship favorites Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses before kicking off their Summer Split with a matchup against Dignitas.
