After an undisclosed amount, we now have a Multiversus season one release date. Player First has now confirmed the Warner Bros fighting games first season's release date, as well as a release date for new character Morty (of Rick & Morty fame) and the arrival of the next battle pass for the free game.

Multiversus season 1 will be released on August 15, according to Player First on the games' official Twitter account. Players will not be waiting long to receive the new battle pass, which arrives on the first day of the season. However, all season one content will not be released on the same day, as instead new modes and content will be spread throughout the season.

Morty, the game's first post-release new character from the hit TV show Rick & Morty, will be joining the cast as separate fighters rather than being paired together like the Tom & Jerry duo on August 23. According to Player First, Morty will be joining the Multiversus roster on August 23.

Several new features will be announced during the games' epic grand finals at the weekend EVO 2022 tournament, where the first competitive Multiversus champions were announced. First up is the much-awaited ranked ladder, which will allow players to compete for position rather than just in casual matches.

A classic arcade mode is on the way, too, which is anticipated to involve players against various AI-controlled opponents in a structured series of fights, much as you might expect to see in other similar fighting games such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The mode will have up to ten stages with three distinct difficulty settings, and that it may be played both solo and in co-op with a friend.

Season one will see a number of new cosmetics, including new player banners and icons, as well as some character variations. The two shown here are a Robin-themed outfit for basketball player LeBron James, based on the 1957 short Whats Opera, Doc?
