Stephen Frears Dangerous Liaisons and Milos Formans Valmont both adapted the original story for a year, while Valmont featured Colin Firth, Annette Bening, and Meg Tilly. And, who could forget the 1999 masterpiece Cruel Intentions, which was a modern day interpretation of the story that launched the careers and relationships of several of the greatest actors of the time.
