From today's Nintendo Direct, Splatoon 3 has all new features ...

When the sequel to Splatoon 3 launches on Nintendo Switch this September, it will include a wealth of new content such as new weapons, stages, battle techniques, designer accessories, and a tabletop collectible card game.

Nintendo unveiled Splatoon 3's world in a fresh Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday, revealing what's to come at launch and what's expected over the next two years of post-release content. Here's a rundown of everything new and confirmed for Splatoon 3 from that Nintendo Direct.

The previous Splatoon weapons will be retained in Splatoon 3, but there are at least two new features: the bow-like Tri-Stinger that fires a spread shot of paint and can be charged up for a powerful hit, and the Splatana Wiper, a windshield wiper-like sword that can also be charged up for a powerful slash.

The Reefslider, a shark-shaped float, and Tenta Missiles, Inkjet, Ultra Stamp, and Booyah Bomb from previous games all return.

Splatoon 3 will bring back stages from previous games, including Museum dAlfonsino, Hammerhead Bridge, and Mahi-Mahi Resort.

Splatlands' chic Inklings and Octolings will have a wide variety of new styles to wear in Splatoon 3, including hats, masks, and glasses; Man o Wardrober, run by Jel la Fleur, will get you into some new shoes, sandals, or slides; and Mr. Cocos Crush Station, which will give you discounts for gear items.

Players may also customize their win emotes, their Splashtag (a nameplate with backgrounds, titles, and badges), and an in-game locker, which will be visible to other players online. New catalogs of items will be added every few months to the game.

Players may try out all of Splatoon 3's new and returning weapons in the Test Range or go into a battle with (or against) a friend by checking in on their hologram. Players may also see replays of battles with the Memory Players in the Lobbies.

In the Splatoon 3 lobby, players will collect 150 cards and build out a deck to face off against others. Each player will receive an in-game starter deck.

Nintendo promises Splatoon 3 at least two years of post-launch support, including new gear, new weapons, new maps, and other features. In future updates, Nintendo plans to include the X Battle and League Battle modes. X Battle is unlocked after attaining an extremely high rank in Splatoon 3s Anarchy Battle, a competitive, objective-based ranked mode, and League Battle will allow players to compete every two hours in teams based on their Anarchy Battle results.

The Deep Cut Trio of Frye, Shiver, and Big Man will return for a three-team, three-theme event on August 27.

Salmon Run, a new Splatoons game that allows four players to team up to collect power eggs from salmonids, will be available anytime in Splatoon 3, and players will now face some new Slammin Lid and the Big Shot. Cohozuna, a new King Salmonid super-giant Salmonid, will be available as well.
