Mio combat, story, and more in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Mio combat, story, and more in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 ...

The third installment of Xenoblade Chronicles is out now, so why not get to grips with some of the most important characters you're likely to spend around a hundred hours with? Mio, a cat-eared soldier from Angus, sends forth the spirits of the dead with sweet melodies from her flute.

Mio, like the rest of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3, can change her class to suit her role in battle. She is also linked to Noah as an off-seer, which may lead to interesting things.

Beyond XC3s Mio, weve got a lot of resources for everything else. Whether it'sXenoblade Chronicles 3s charactersso you know who you're adventuring with, our Xenoblade Chronicles Operation Rainfall feature, or our Xenoblade Chronicles timeline explanation, we're here to help you understand what's going on.

Let's get down to the fun part.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3s Mio

XC3s Mio is a warrior in Agnus, a hostile territory to Noah's colony of Keves. She wields two ring-shaped weapons that glow yellow at least in her starting class. Her friends are Taion and Sena, and they become embroiled with the other characters after a strange encounter.

Mio seems to have the most lines in the story trailer we saw at the beginning of the direct for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, even though I know nothing about any of the characters. Theres even one moment that made me tear up, even though I did not know anything about any of them. I don't know, but she appears to be at the heart of the game's emotions.

She and Noah are both off-seers. They send the dead off by playing songs on their flute. What this implies isn't clear, but the two are bound to bond over something so immoral.

We got a little peek at XC3 Mios combat moves in the direct, too. She starts as a zephyr and has multiple arts she can use to do more damage than a standard auto-attack. Here are the ones we got to see:

  • Butterfly blade high aggro
  • Air fang increase aggro
  • Wide slash evade
  • Gemini strike high aggro / evade

Mio, who can wield any arts from any of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 classes, has met whatever prerequisites. These master arts may be combined with standard arts to produce powerful fusion arts. Like all characters, she can change her class.

When Mio, Sena, and Taion lead their respective pairs, here's how the different Ouroboros shapes appear in their respective pairs. Which one do you like the most? #XenobladeChronicles3 pic.twitter.com/DIJn8hH2Rb

Mio can also interlink with Noah in a powerful form known as Ouroboros. Both characters can take the lead, but we only saw Noah as the leader in the direct. You can see her form as the leader in the tweet above, but unfortunately no combat moves. Check out our Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros guide to learn more.
