Following backlash, the League of Legends Star Guardian event comes to an end abruptly ...

The League of Legends Star Guardians are a team of high schoolers with superhuman abilities whose sole objective is to protect the innocent and their own friendships. When the event was interrupted due to various technical difficulties, players could not progress the story or even receive the rewards they were due.

Because of this, the Riot support team posted aseries of tweets letting everyone know that they were aware of the delays and that a solution was on the way. Well, we now have that fix. Theyre getting rid of all of the missions.

Riot will offer free rewards for players who created an account before August 12, and the token shop and paid missions from the Star Guardian pass will be extended until 24 August.

These bonuses may not be available when you log in, but they will be added to players accounts in the coming days.

The general reaction to this statement has been, unexpectedly, negative, with players chastising the lack of communication until now, and the fact that some paid missions have not been rewarded. One user posted:

Just a quick update on the announcements, we spent days and weeks awaiting any answers, and if I had known the pass would last till the 24th, I would have spent all of my tokens on orbs, since I gave up the mythic essence. So for all those players who are still waiting on their free rewards, here are some suggestions.
