In the official Warhammer 3 FAQ, do you want to know more about Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires? Creative Assembly has confirmed that it is working on a new, massive combined map that will be a huge free DLC for owners of all three games.

We also now have more information on Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires' release date. In June 2022, Creative Assembly published another developer blog post, this time focused entirely on the new mode, goinginto further detail as to what phase one would involveas well as a narrowed release schedule.

The sequel to Total War: Warhammer III Immortal Empires will be released on August 23, 2022.

Please note that in order to receive access to the massive combined map that will be released as a free Warhammer 3 DLC, you will need to own all three Total War: Warhammer games on the same storefront. So either on Steam or the Epic Games Store.

The studio slowed to reveal the starting positions of all factions playable at launch as part of Creative Assembly's marketing strategy for the Immortal Empires release, including the recently announced Champions of Chaos DLC factions.

The whole Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map was unveiled in a developer blog on June 21, 2022. It spans from Lustria in the west, to Cathay on the coast's eastern edge, and down through the Old World and the Badlands, before reaching the southern Chaos Wastes.

Interesting, there are two landmasses that do not currently have any boundaries, which in the wider Warhammer universe are where the Ind and Khuresh factions would be located, and in a blog post the studio reiterates its priorities, stating Our focus for the Total War:Warhammer trilogy has always been on the races of Eighth Edition (with some exceptions), and the areas where these races reside remain our immediate design priority.

It's very probable that these areas will be filled in some time, although it's possible that existing or last remaining 8e factions may fill them in, as opposed to the nations thelands are named after. Well, we'll see.

The Immortal Empires mode will be released in a beta state initially, and will continue to exist until Creative Assembly is satisfied.

Immortal Empires isn't just a port of content from one game to another; it's a mountain of extraordinaryly time-sensitive, technical work, according to the studio. We want to be realistic: it won't be the final, finished product on day one, just as Mortal Empires was at its launch.
