Riot confirms that a new Darkin assassin champion has arrived in the League ...

Riot Games revealed today in its latest League of Legends Champions and Preseason video that the next Darkin champion is on the way.

According to Ryan Reav3 Mireles, League's lead champion producer, the upcoming Darkin is trapped in a dagger.

The new champion will be the first player to join the Darkin team since 2017, when Rhaast and Kayn were released. Darkin are God-Warriors, fallen Ascended of Shurima who were traumatized and wounded by the horrors of the Void War and thus used blood magic on themselves, a type of magic linked to healing and resurrection.

The God-Warriors' hearts became more powerful with the passage of time, thus bringing further conflicts across Runeterra. However, mages developed a technique to bind their essence to the weapon they used.

Some of the remaining Darkin have escaped after thousands of years, including Aatrox, Varus, and Rhaast. We also know the names of other Ascended who fell. Some have fled, while others are gone forever.

Fans have been requesting further information on the Darkin, an interesting League secret. Riot might decide to release more lore about the fallen champions with the upcoming arrival of the new dagger-entrapped entity.
