The RPG's next big update would increase the friend list limit, from 45 to 60 friends, for a few months. You won't have to turn down old, inactive friends anymore, until you get them all fixed up.
Youkizero, a Twitter user and Genshin Impact leaker, tweeted an image of two screenshots that resembled one of the previous in-game friends list and another of what appears to be coming in Genshin Impact version 3.0. The newer screenshot is likely to reflect the closed beta, where some have been exploring the new Sumeru region a bit earlier than others.
This friends list cap increase may not be beneficial to those who prefer to use random matchmaking to get through Domains and boss fights. That being said, it is certainly useful for those, like myself, who have switched platforms and played with many friends across the mobile, console, and PC versions of the game.
Players who join Discord servers should find this to be a useful upgrade, as the official server alone has 1,000,000 members. If you are active in co-op, the cap will hit quickly.
This change comes just in time for the release of version 3.0, making it even more attractive brand-new players than previous ones who will be returning to the game to see the Sumeru character banners, gameplay tweaks, and other new content, story, and events.
