The Expanse, a former Syfy series, is continuing to be a top-rated, challenging, and challenging sci-fi series on the air, now with more resources and creative freedom than ever. It's set 200 years in the future in a colonized solar system where the citizens of Earth, Mars, and the asteroid belt wage ongoing conflict over territories, freedoms, and humanity's future.

The latest batch of episodes brings The Expanse to a new streaming home, where the series gets to craft its colonialist investigation with more real-time evidence than ever. All of this remains fascinating; a meaty character drama or good old-fashioned space spectacle. -- Haleigh Foutch

The Tick (2016-2019)

Ben Edlund's Website is currently under development.

Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Scott Speiser are all cast in the film.

It's hard to believe that we havent reached Peak Superhero in this period of Peak TV, yet still, they're there. As it becomes more difficult to differentiate between the similar storylines and emphasis on dark/gritty takes, there is one superhero series that has managed to stand out: The Tick.

The half-hour live-action program (the current iteration of this character) reflects something fundamental about super-powered television: it should be enjoyable. Even shows that started off as lighthearted have been reduced to too much focus on doom and doom (Look at you, The Flash). Yet, The Tick is an incredible and unusual series that is assisting with combating superhero fatigue.

Arnold Chun, Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Lee Shorten, Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, Rufus Sewell

The Man in the High Castle, a 1963 alternate history novel by Philip K. Dicks, is a fictional account of a world in which the Axis powers of World War II triumphed. The former United States is now divided into three sections: the Pacific States of America, a Japanese-controlled area west of the Rocky Mountains, the Greater Nazi Reich, the Nazi-occupied eastern half of the continent, and a neutral buffer zone between the three regions, called the Rocky Mountain States.

The Man in the High Castle is one of the few films that incorporates alternative histories into the zeitgeist, and it's even rarer that they're made as excellent as this. It's a slow burn to be sure, but it's a gripping thriller that'll have you dreading the next turn but anticipating the next one.

If you've heard nothing but enthusiastic praise for Mr. Robot, please be the 22nd person to declare it: it's all true. Few seasons of television stand out from the rest of the familiar, visually dull dramas that networks produce with the efficiency of a cat-food-canning operation as Mr. Robot, which follows the activities of a deeply unstable hacker named Elliot living in a tiny Manhattan apartment. The series' striking beauty is bolstered by nuanced characters and engaging, energetic performances from
