Another Bridgerton brother has found their happily ever after. But where does that leave the rest of the Regency-era family?
We cant help but imagine which sibling will feel the sting of love come Season 3, following the jaw-dropping Season 2 Bridgerton finale.
[Editors Note: A spoiler alert in some ways. The below recaps the book An Offer From A Gentleman, which will reportedly be the inspiration for Season 3.]
Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Claudia Jessie) bonded over the nasty Lady Whistledown gossip rag, and while she may have to wait until the fifth season in the Julia Quinns series which is based on, it's still a devastating blow.
Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) remained committed to protecting the Featherington family while Penelope longed for him, but Lady Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) has further sinister plans in the works. AndColin is unlikely to be cast in Season 4.
So, where does Season 3 leave us? Keep scrolling to find out.
Simone Ashley has announced that she will be returning to Bridgerton for Season 3. Ashley teased that Kate and Anthony are just starting. I think everything is just beginning. I'd like to see Kate just dive into the fun part of Season 3.
Ashley said she's very excited for Kate to start a family with Anthony. I'd like to see Kate become more brave, less headstrong, and more heartfelt.

In the third Bridgerton installment, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) will finally meet his feet.
Thompson is already prepared for his leading man love scenes thanks to a Season 2 set malfunction. Coughlan revealed to The Daily Mail that Thompson was mistakenly assigned a personal trainer to prepare for nude scenes, when in fact the other Luke on set, Luke Newton, was the one stripping down. Thompson later joked to The Times of London that he stayed in shape for the bum scenes.
The mystery of Benedict will no doubt be unravelled for the third season. Thompson explained that as an actor, Benedict is such a fun character to play with.
Chris Van Dusen explained to Entertainment Tonight that the third season may deviate from Julia Quinn's stories and perhaps enlist the help of another Bridgerton brother first.
After this season, I can't say anything about anything, although it was always my intention to focus on a different Bridgerton sibling every season, and Van Dusen said it's no secret there are eight Bridgerton siblings. I want to be a part of every single one of those eight Bridgerton siblings and tell their romance stories.
The third installment of the series might not necessarily go in the books, according to executive producer Shonda Rhimes. However, Van Dusen admitted that Benedict would be a strong leader.
I like Benedict's story. I love his father, all of these siblings, all of these characters for different reasons, Van Dusen said. They all have something different. I think that's what attracted me to this project, the possibility of repeating these close-ended love stories year after season.
Rhimes, a Netflix billionaire, has revealed that a Season 3 script is currently in the works. Rhimes said the Bridgerton team was just a bit creative and is already working on Season 3.
The work is already underway, and youll see. Rhimes' summed up to Entertainment Tonight.
Jess Brownell, a long-time Shondaland filmmaker, will take on the role of showrunner for Seasons 3 and 4.
Sophie Beckett, Quinn's third novel, is expected to charm her way into Benedict's heart. Sophie is the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, but is relegated to working as a servant due to her evil stepmother, Araminta.
Sophie only agrees to live with her two vicious daughters due to a loophole in the Earls' will: Upon her death, Araminta will receive a much greater benefit if Sophie stays until she turns 20.
Sophie enters Lady Bridgertons famous masquerade ball, where she locks eyes with Benedict, according to the official synopsis of the novel. Yet the Bridgerton heir has no clue who Sophie is, and sets out to find her.
Benedict has been searching for Sophie for over two years, but has sworn off marriage until he can find his mysterious soul mate. She is forced to work as a maid after the Earls' death, and Benedict rescues her from unwanted advances from her employers' son. Sophie is hired to work for his mother, but has no clue that she is the same woman he has been following since the ball.
As the relationship between Benedict and Sophie blossoms, he is conflicted over whether or not to keep up his masquerade fantasies or settle for Sophie? Little does he know, they are the same person. Add to the class drama of marrying a servant, and there are plenty of obstacles ahead for the young couple.
Benedict asks Sophie to be his mistress while he seeks for a suitable wife for a temporary solution. Eventually, as in the novels, Benedict falls for Sophie and abandons the quest for the mystery woman. However, upon encountering Sophie wearing a blindfold, he realizes the woman of his dreams has been right under his nose (literally).
The Bridgertons free Sophie and she is proved innocent thanks to one of her stepsisters, Posy. And to add to the fairytale ending, Sophie discovers the Earl has left her a large fortune.
Benedict and Sophie marry and raise four children, forming the next generation of Bridgertons.

After two seasons of will they or wont they tension, Nicola Coughlan, who plays Lady Whistledown, has revealed that the third season will actually follow her character Penelope Featheringtons love story with Colin Bridgerton.
Penelope-Colin's narrative doesn't begin until Book Four, called Romancing Mister Bridgerton. However, new Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell told Variety that it's really Colin and Penelopes' time to be in the spotlight.
Weve already invested a bit in them as individuals, Brownell said. There are these moments of tension between them where, especially in the last season, Colin walks up to the line of almost realizing that Penelope has feelings for him but doesnt quite get there. We wanted to continue the conversation with them throughout the season.
Brownell stated that Benedict will be a significant part of Season 3 of the third book based on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). Will he therefore be the center of Season 4? Only time (and Lady Whistledown) will tell.
Julia Quinn, the author of the Bridgerton series, has announced that she is working on another prequel novel, this time co-written by executive producer Shonda Rhimes herself. The series will focus on the upcoming Bridgerton Queen Charlotte spin-off program, which will begin with how a young Charlotte met and married King George, establishing her royal status. The novel, published by William Morrow Group at HarperCollins imprint Avon Books, will also serve as a jumping off point for the racial
Queen Charlotte has been a moving figure to write, and now having the opportunity to collaborate with Julia to translate this story into a book is such an exciting opportunity, Rhimes said in a press release via Variety. I cannot wait for fans of this universe to hear the story of a character that has deeply resonated with our audience.
Bridgerton Season 3 is officially underway on Netflix and Shondaland on July 20. The series began its filming in London under new showrunner and executive producer Jess Brownell, with the new season focusing on the blossoming romance between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Bridgerton lovers are abuzz over the #Polin couple that has, well, pollinated Julia Quinn's novels in two previous seasons of will they or will they flirtations.
Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging comments about her last season. She has decided it is time to find a partner, preferably one who will allow her to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
Colin has returned from his summer adventures with a fresh face and a serious sense of humor. However, he is disappointed to realize that Penelope, the one person who always admired him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Complicating matters for Penelope is her feud with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in an unlikely place.
