Release Date and Season 6 Recap of Better Call Saul Series Finale

Release Date and Season 6 Recap of Better Call Saul Series Finale ...

The last episode of the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul is scheduled to air soon, titled Saul Gone. After seven years and six seasons, fans will finally see whether Jimmy McGill, alias Saul Goodman, or Gene Takovic (Bob Odenkirk) finds any semblance of redemption.

What will showrunner Peter Gould and his writing team choose to present one of the most long-awaited conclusions in recent TV history? That remains to be seen, but everyone in Saul-world seems to be ecstatic about what theyve come up with.

Bob Odenkirk, who plays Jimmy in the LA Times, said that while he doesn't promise that his character will mature into a good-hearted, generous, caring person, fans will enjoy where his journey ends. Additionally, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Breaking Bad expert and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan advised fans via AMCs Talking Saul after the show to stock up on Depends for the likely chaos ahead.

Here's where we've been thus far.

Better Call Saul Season 6 Recap

In the aftermath of the events seen in the midseason finale Plan and Execution, Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) lay dead on the carpet of Jimmy and Kim's apartment, having been executed by Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton). Lalo immediately devises a strategy to use Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) as a pawn to finally defeat Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).

Jimmy and Kim try to move on from the horrific events while Jimmy (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) keep going. She then breaks up with her one true love.

The final three episodes of Better Call Sauls season then flash-back to the post-Breaking Bad Gene Takovic timeline. In the usual black and white visual style, we see how Gene starts to slip into old habits and pulls off a massive department store heist with Jeffie (Pat Healy), the taxi driver who figured out his true identity. After an explosive (unheard) phone call with Kim, Gene decides to keep the schemes going.

In the penultimate episode, Waterworks, we learn what has happened to Kim since she left him in Albuquerque, and why Gene became so enraged during their conversation in the previous episode. She has been living a monotonous but crime-free life as an administrative worker for a Florida sprinkler company. She travels to Albuquerque to confess her crimes, but this phone call was only the beginning of Gene's increasingly unpredictable and dangerous behavior.

Gene attempts to steal documents from an elderly man who was diagnosed with cancer, but also comes incredibly close to killing the poor guy with the ashes of his dead dog when he discovers his Saul Goodman alter ego. He threatens her, but in a brief moment of remorse, Gene lets her press his Life Alert button.
