Universal Pictures has announced the premiere date for his next drama The Fall Guy, which will premiere on Friday, March 1, 2024.
The Fall Guy, based on a television series with the same name that ran from 1981 to 1986, is about a Hollywood stuntman who works as a bounty hunter on the side to make ends meet. Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, the film also includes Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place films) as well as a stunt coordinator.
Fall Guy is a reimagining of the classic series, with a lot of drama drawn from both sides of the life that the lead character lives, from the bounty hunting world to the turmoil of Hollywood, which the latter of the two pulled from the team's experiences in that Hollywood system. "We're definitely going to have a lot of fun playing with the film," says Leitch.
Drew Pearce, who directed Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, will compose the script for The Fall Guy. She is also a producer for their company 87North, along with Gosling and Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones, Steve Jobs) for Entertainment 360.
The Fall Guy is scheduled to be released in theaters throughout the world on March 1, 2024. Leitch's most recent film, Bullet Train, is currently in theaters.
