Fathom Events and Lionsgate are expanding the theatrical release of Kevin Smith's hotly-anticipated sequel, Clerks III, on September 13 and 15, and now, Smith has announced on Twitter that four more dates have been added to the film's theatrical release. This is unusual for Fathom releases.
Smith has stated, "I assure you, the expansion was successful!" Many thanks to Lionsgate and Fathom Events for extending our limited run of Clerks III to a weekend. And of course, thank you to all those who purchased tickets to our Fathom screenings! The first two weeks of the season, which were weekdays, were completely sold out, causing Lionsgate and Fathom Events to add additional dates.
The rest of the cast will reprise their roles from the first two Clerks films, including fan-favorite character Randal (Jeff Anderson) who finds himself in a state of existential uncertainty after suffering a major heart attack. Soon, Randal decides to hire his favorite pals to assist him in filming the sequel to the original 1994 film that inspired him.

Kevin Smith's mainstream popularity may have already risen, but his followers have remained loyal after all these years. This includes 2019's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which was also released through Fathom and raked in 2019's second highest per-screen average with its traveling roadshow release strategy. Clerks III is poised to be even more successful than that film, which will run in more than 700 cinemas across the United States.
Clerks III will be performed in several theaters from September 13 to 18, and tickets are now on sale at FathomEvents. Check out the official trailer for Clerks III below:
