The Best Kings Canyon Landing POIs and high-tier loot areas in Apex Legends

The Best Kings Canyon Landing POIs and high-tier loot areas in Apex Legends ...

The Kings Canyon of today is different from the one you started with. Over the years, Respawn has made a lot of improvements to Apex Legends' first map in order to make it more enjoyable, more cohesive, and more fragmented. In season 14, the most recent major iteration included a revamped version of Skull Town, altered its rotational paths, and made the map a lighter, brighter experience.

If you're looking for a good base in Kings Canyon, you've come to the right place. From the best spots to land to the highest-tier loot zones, there's a wealth of information for you. Use your shields to prepare for your opponents.

Best landing spots on Kings Canyon in Apex

Kings Canyon is bigger than it has been for several seasons thanks to a new Relic upgrade, so you will not have to worry about landing on other teams as soon as you land. The Cage is also sometimes designated as a hot loot zone, meaning you can find higher-tier loot while you're there.

Containment is a good early fighting zone that has excellent loot and plenty of ammunition, and it's worth dropping here for that alone. If any of your teammates are downed, there's a nearby respawn beacon that can get them back quickly.

If you prefer loot rather than battle, check out Swamps. It's a classic POI that's always had decent loot, but it's sometimes difficult to get to. According to a Respawn dev blog, there's also a new round of explosive holds that can now spawn there, making it much easier to grab great attachments and lots of ammunition quickly.

Basin, which has been replaced by the previous Broken Relay, is another great place to drop. Due to the network of ziplines, there's a lot more loot to find, and it's easy to get to them from the edge of the map. Like Swamps, it's right on the edge of the map, which decreases the likelihood you'll encounter a squad and gives you more time to loot before reaching The Rig or Capacitor nearby.

Rotational zones on Kings Canyon

With the Reforged update, Kings Canyon's rotational strategy has been significantly improved. Respawn explained in the dev blog that the old Kings Canyon made it too difficult for squads to jump on one another, especially in the maze of canyon paths that make up the map's heart. The changes were intended to decrease the possibility for third parties, and now force squads to make more definitive decisions about the direction they want to go in and the POI where they want to stand.

Containment and Capacitor are ideal locations for snipers like Vantage who are often launching shots into your squad as you enter the game. Containment and Capacitor are excellent places to start the game, but aim for the Hillside area.

Avoid The Cage if youre coming from the east side of the map, which includes Hydro, Labs, and Swamps, for the same reasons as Containment and Capacitor. Even with the changes that prevent squads from bunkering high at the top, it remains a snipers paradise. Particularly if youre packing a recon legend, avoid going through here.

Due to improvements to the nearby tunnels, Caustic Treatment has become less of a headache to rotate through, but it remains a dangerous spot to cross through. Relic is walled off from many sides, making switching into a different POI a deliberate decision. Head up the river and keep to the canyon walls.

Runoff, Airbase, and a handful of other POIs reside on the west side of the map. Otherwise, skip through the Market or south around Bunker to the river if you need some better loot.

Kings Canyons best loot zones

Several Kings Canyon POIs and loot zones received a boost during the season 14 overhaul. According to Respawn, many of the older POIs that had dropped off in popularity have been reduced in terms of loot disparity, including Hydro Dam, Swamps, Octanes Gauntlet, and Runoff. Both of those POIs are large and still have plenty of storage space for players to acquire weapons and ammunition.

Capacitor, The Cage, and Market are three frequent hot loot zones that are marked in advance of each other. Although youll most likely to encounter a battle there, beware that youll not be able to get a gold pistol right off your drop.

Gauntlet is a great way to start off your quest for higher loot chances in general. It always includes a high-tier shield within a fiery ring that can be accessed using its jump pads. It also contains a replicator, making it simple to craft whatever else you need.

As it has a large amount of items in close proximity, artillery is also a great place to find loot. Try to avoid going south toward Containment, as there isn't much loot until you get to the POI proper and you'll be seen quite easily going down the hill into the valley.

Caustic Treatment is also a high-density loot zone. You may use the controls inside to find gold armor, fully-kitted weapons, and more. If you prefer to snipe, stay in the doorway of Treatment and aim carefully; close-range heroes can use the ground pillars as cover while they weave in and out.

Labs, specifically Labs Interior, are often well-stocked with good loot, but it isn't usually worthwhile dropping there. Players love to take the portal on drop and duke it out in the small, dark zone in the middle, so chances are you won't live long enough to exploit anything worthwhile. A better strategy is to drop Capacitor or Hydro, kit up, and catch stragglers trying to exit Labs.

Kings Canyon may be Apex's oldest map, but it does feel like it. With the Reforged updates, its full of life and wonder again, with plenty of POIs and new paths to walk. No matter what genre of game you're planning to play, it'll make you a better player!
