Stranger Things season 4 ejected onto our screens in May, but fans have been buried in predictions and speculations about what season 5 will bring.
Every season has been building up to this point, which means every season has been continuing to develop. Especially in season 4, when we discovered how Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) has been the one wreaking havoc on Hawkins.
Aber according to the Duffer Brothers, we haven't fully grasped everything about Vecna and the Upside Down, and the last season will reveal the origins of this creepy dimension.
Ross Duffer said of IndieWire: "We suggested it this season, but the final reveal will come in season five," and we're all excited about it.
"We've been] revealing more about the Upside Down, the origins of the Upside Down," Matt Duffer said.
Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) had managed to thrash Vecna in the past and he had banished him to the Upside Down, as fans may recall. From that point on, he had been using it as his lair and causing difficulties at Hawkins.
The showrunners talked about how the story came to this point.
"All these things were goalposts. It's not like there was someone named Vecna, but it was going to be about Number One," said Ross.
"We knew we wanted this entity controlling everything, but it wasn't until [season 4] that we realized all of the details," he said.
The stage has been set for the Hawkins children and adults to have one last chance at saving their beloved town from total destruction. All we have to do is wait until we can see it with our own eyes.
Seasons 1-4 of Stranger Things are now available on Netflix throughout the world.
