Simu Liu is coming to Springfield.
In the episode 'When Nelson Met Lisa,' Shang-Chi will make a guest appearance as Lisa Simpson's future boyfriend.
Matt Selman, executive producer and writer of the episode, told Deadline: "In an upcoming episode, Simu Liu from Marvel's Shang-Chi will play Lisa's perfect future boyfriend."
Selman teased upcoming scenes for the 34th season of the long-running cartoon, which will include two Treehouse of Horror Halloween specials.
"I'm excited about season 34. It's probably the best 34th season of any program you've ever seen," said the actor.
"You can't just rest on your laurels. You have to be pushing yourself and challenging yourself and ensuring that every episode is unique and emotional, visual, and compelling and cinematic."
The next season follows the musical conclusion of season 33, where Hugh Jackman made a cameo appearance as a singing janitor to teach Bart about the changing fortunes of the middle classes in America.
Simu has had a tumultuous few months since he made his debut in the Marvel universe.
Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated Barbie film will feature him, alongside Ryan Gosling and Ncuti Gatwa.
Although the actor has given little information about the forthcoming role, he did state that he had gone through an extensive waxing process in order to become Ken.
"Waxing has been an education to say the least," he said. "It was one of the most difficult decisions of my life."
In the United Kingdom, The Simpsons is available on Disney+, Sky Showcase, and Channel 4.
