In NA VCT LCQ, 100 Thieves evaporate Cloud9 to set up a rematch against FaZe ...

100 Thieves' incredible lower bracket run continued today with their most impressive win of the NA VALORANT Champions Tour Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) so far: a decisive 2-0 victory over Cloud9 to set up a rematch against previous opponents FaZe Clan in the lower bracket final.

C9 opted to drop the Chamber crutch on Jett and killjoy while keeping both stellar and bang off the scoreboard throughout six rounds, putting Will back on the board for his team on Chamber. Despite their poor start, 100T regained a 7-5 first half lead.

100T remained strong after switching to defense, but just as C9 put a stop to 100T ballooning their lead, they lost another shocking thrifty round to Sheriffs that saw 100T take an unimaginable 12-7 lead. Asuna and bang anchor the site to put an end to Ascent, 13-7.

Stellar started Fracture hot with a fine Frenzy 4k to deliver 100T the opening pistol round to their defensive half. Cloud9 then found success attacking the A site via a double-sided assault. During the first half, 100T pulled together some key defensive rounds after a timeout to take a 7-5 advantage.

C9 jumped onto the podium after winning the pistol and anti-eco rounds on defense, and curry scored what should have been a massive momentum-shifter with a one-vs-three clutch retake in the bonus round. Unfortunately for C9, another costly thrifty round defeat anchored by a Derrek post-plant halted their run, and 100T rolled over them in three straight punishing attack rounds to close out the series on Fracture 13-10.

100 Thieves' post-Stage One revival is in full swing, and this young group of players is forming a rapport under the guidance of coach Sean Gares. FaZe Clan has three outstanding series against them during Stage Two and this LCQ, with FaZe winning the most recent two.

In a best-of-five competition, the two will decide who wins the competition this year starting Saturday, Aug. 13 at 3pm CT, with the winner moving on to Sunday and a match against The Guard to determine who goes to VCT Champions 2022.
