After a busy summer of delays and controversial leaks, we now have a confirmed date for the Genshin Impacts major Sumeru update. The 3.0 update, which will add a new region to the game, will be released on August 24, according to Hoyoverse. The first three Sumeru three characters will be featured on Wish banners, Collei, Tighnari, and Dori.
The first set of stories will be released over the course of versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2, and will be contained in two acts: Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark and The Morn a Thousand Roses Bring. Developer released a new trailer teasing the second half of the story where the dancer Nilou attempts to dance and plan a gathering for the Dendro Archons' birthday, but the scholars of the city stop her.
The developers have also announced the schedule for future updates. The 3.1 update will be released on September 28, 3.2 will be released on November 2, and 3.3 will be released on December 7. The following updates will be released at a slightly slower-up schedule that will correct previous problems with the game earlier in the summer.
The developers have also revealed which characters to wish for on the upcoming banners with higher drop rates. The first phase will contain two banners, one featuring Tinghari and the other featuring Zhongli, both of which will feature the four-star Collei (Tingnari will be added to the Standard banner after 3.1, so players will always have a small chance of getting him, regardless of the featured banner).
Tighnari, a five-star forest ranger, will be getting a story quest, Vulpes Zerda Chapter: Act 1, in which players will be able to learn more about him and gain a better understanding of a dangerous event in the forest known as The Withering.
Ganyu and Sangonomiya Kokomi will have banners during the second phase, both of which will have a higher drop rate for the four-star merchant, Dori. Players who do not wish on the banners will still be able to unlock the Dendro archer Collei if they complete the tutorial quest for her event.
The stream highlighted other aspects of the region, such as the Sumeru City, which is built around a massive tree and contains sites such as a bazaar, cafes, and the Akademiya, which serves as a university library. We also saw the oceanside city, Port Ormos, and the lush green forest called Avidya Forest.
Two new artifact sets and a new boss, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, are among the miscellaneous highlights. Hoyoverse has released new songs for the new Sumeru soundtrack, which includes a stunning orchestra performance.
