The Nintendo Switch EShop has launched the 'Ultimate Sonic Bundle,' but something's missing ...

You'd be forgiven if you think that 'ultimate' means "the best of the best" or "the most complete package." Heck, look at the cast of Danganronpa; they're the "ultimate" in their respective fields, displaying abilities that no one else would match.

It's natural to assume that Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, Sonic Colours Ultimate, and the recently released Sonic Origins are included in the "Ultimate Sonic Bundle" on the Switch eShop. If you're a complete player, you've also got the Sega Ages branded Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

The issue with this ultimate package is that it only contains three of the aforementioned titles: Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, and Team Sonic Racing. Although the title suggests something more substantial, we were surprised to discover that important titles from the franchise were absent from this release. Not only that, but the standard price of 64.99 is quite steep considering that all three titles have been included in fairly generous sales in the past.

Sonic Forces has dropped to as little as 8.74, Sonic Mania has dropped to 7.99, and Team Sonic Racing has beaten that number again. However, this is a public service announcement: purchasing digital games separately will often be much less costly than purchasing such bundles.

Do you already own the games from the "Ultimate Sonic Bundle" or will you be checking out this one soon? Leave a comment!
