The new wild Pokemon spawns include Pokemon you can train to be a powerful battling Mon, but there are also plenty of research tasks for players to complete that involve battling.
Challengers will compete in the World Championships event for the first time. Here's all you need to know about them!

What Are Challengers in Pokemon GO?
Challengers are NPC Pokemon trainers that you may encounter during the World Championships event.
When you spin a PokeStop, there are six different kinds of Challengers, each with a different battle team of Pokemon. It is randomly which one you will encounter.
During the Pokemon World Championships event, make sure to visit a few Gyms as well.
You will need to go up to a PokeStop where a Challenger is and spin it. When you have spun the PokeStop the Challenger will ask to fight you.
During the World Championships event, battling and defeating Challengers is very important.
To complete the 2022 World Championships Timed Research, players must contend with Challengers. More, one of the limited-time Field Research Tasks requires players to contend with a Challenger.
The Field Research Task that requires you to defeat a Challenger gives you an opportunity to meet the new costumed Pikachu!
Although, this is just one of the many ways to get a World Championships 2022 Pikachu in Pokemon GO.
Every Challenger has a team of three Pokemon that they will use to defeat you. You can select which Pokemon a Challenger will use by their name, although there are always a couple of options for each position in their battle team.
