Maverick finally confirms a digital release of Top Gun, and it'll be released very soon ...

Top Gun, a box office smash, has now set a digital release date, which is good news for Tom Cruise fans.

Paramount Pictures has announced that the film would be available for streaming on August 24 before physical copies would be available later this year.

Tons of bonus content will be included in the film's digital release, along with an additional 110 minutes of footage.

The additional content includes a look at the preparation process for fighter jet sequences, as well as a look at the experimental airplane used for the Lady Gaga and OneRepublics songs "Hold My Hand" and "I Ain't Worried" (which feature on the film's soundtrack).

Tom Cruise gives an interview while piloting a vintage World War II fighter jet.

The physical release of this product, which is expected to be available starting on October 31, may be pre-ordered now, as there are numerous models available for purchase, including 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD and Blu-ray.

During the pre-order period, Zavvi offers all of its products at reduced prices. A standard DVD is currently 9.99 (down from 19.99), a Blu-ray is 14.99 (down from 24.99) and a 4K version is 24.99 (down from 39.99).

Top Gun: Maverick - 4K Ultra HD Steelbook is available for 34.99. The standard DVD and Blu-ray will include selected bonus content, while the 4K Ultra HD and Steelbook versions will include all of the above.

Top Gun: Maverick has been a major smash hit as the sequel to the 1986 film, both at the box office and for Cruise.

The film has grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the actor's most successful film to date.

Top Gun: Maverick is currently available on Sky Cinema, NOW, and Virgin TV.
