Netflix has finally given us the release date for Enola Holmes 2, and we have even the first look to recapitulate the fantastic news.
Following the events of the first film, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) takes on her first official case.
Enola's first attempt to find a missing girl ends up involving a dangerous conspiracy and a mystery that requires the help of her friends and Sherlock himself.
On November 4, Enola Holmes 2 will be released on Netflix, and Entertainment Weekly has provided the first look images that you can see below:
The sequel returns Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as Enola's mother Eudoria, Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade, and Susan Wokoma as Edith.
Enola Holmes 2, starring David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Hannah Dodd, Gabriel Tierney, and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss, has also been returned by director Harry Bradbeer and writer Jack Thorne.
The sequel to the first film will be inspired by Nancy Springer's Enola Holmes Mysteries book series. The set-up sounds similar to the second book, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady, in which Enola tries to track down Lady Cecily Alistair.
As the first film was not, we wouldn't expect it to be a direct adaptation of the book, but we're certain there are some connections to the source material.
Brown talked about being told by a casting director when she was 10 years old that she was "too mature."
"[Hearing that] was really difficult because I believed [maturity] was a good thing. And then being told that it was not a good thing, that I would not make it in this industry, it was so troubling."
Needless to say, her maturity hasn't exactly halted her.
Netflix will release Enola Holmes 2 on November 4.
