Following a brief message posted on his social media, Death In Paradise fans are worried that Ralf Little may soon leave the BBC crime drama.

After posting a throwback photo of himself before he was cast in the role, there were concerns about his future on the show.

"I've been cast in @deathinparadiseofficial since August," says the 28th of May in Moher, Ireland. Every day I don't realize how fortunate I am.

"Appreciate every one of you who listened to and embraced DI Neville Parker into your hearts."

Ralf Little (@ralf.little) has shared a tweet.

Fans were quick to point out that Little's touching tribute to his character, as well as the fact that he was talking about the program in the past tense, implied that his time as the DI may come to an end.

'Watched' 'took' past tense,? Surely not, according to a concerned fan, but Little clarified the disagreement and stated that he would not be leaving.

"I mean, I saw it when I first started," he said. "Never know how an audience will react to an incoming character on a show that's so well-known."

Kris Marshall will reprise his role as DI Humphrey Goodman in the upcoming Beyond Paradise spin-off series, and he announced that the new series would have a slightly different plot structure than the previous ones.

"It's continuing from where we left Humphrey Goodman and Martha, with their new bucolic south-western lifestyle," he said.

"The classic Death in Paradise approach to wrapping up the show is reimagined a bit, not every episode is a murder so more sheep rustling and stuff like that!"

On BBC One, Death in Paradise is available.
