Wednesday: The Addams Family Series on Netflix is set for a fall release WATCH ...

In a new teaser for Netflix's upcoming series Wednesday, the Addams Family has gathered with great woe, mind you.

Wednesday follows the death-obsessed teen (played by Jenna Ortega) who is enrolled in the bizarre Nevermore Academy.

The eight-episode series, scheduled to premiere this fall (exact date TBA), focuses on Wednesdays' attempts to master her growing psychic ability, thwart a horrific killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and unravel the mysterious mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and varied student body, according to the official synopsis.

Morticia, the Addams family matriarch, will be played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, who will play Luis Guzman. Isaac Ordonez will play Pugsley, Victor Dorobantu will play Thing, George Burcea will play Lurch, and Game of Thrones alum Gwendoline Christie will play Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy, who still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia.

Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the Addams Family and its sequel Addams Family Values, will return to the series in a yet-to-be-revealed role on the show.

Wednesday is written by Smallville's Al Gough and Miles Millar, who will also executive-produce and serve as showrunners. Tim Burton will direct and executive-produce alongside Kayla Alpert, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, Jonathan Glickman, and Gail Berman.
