Jonathan Kent will be recast as Jordan Elsass leaves 'Superman & Lois' ahead of season 3 ...

Before the return of Superman and Lois, a new actor has been revealed that Jordan Elsass, the actor who plays Jonathan Kent in the series, will not return to the show.

Elsass failed to fulfill the series cast commitments in Vancouver, where the film will be shot, according to Deadline. Warner Bros. has issued a statement confirming that the character played by Elsass will be recast. "The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast," the studio said in the statement.

Elsass' decision to miss the deadline and the studios' subsequent move to replace him came six weeks after the season finale of the shows second season aired. According to showrunner Todd Helbing, "We certainly want to fold Jonathan more into the superhero stories." But for the most part, what we love about Jordan and Jonathan is that they don't get jealous of each other.

Tyler Hoechlin directs the series Superman & Lois, following him in his duties to his family and to the world at large. Helbing and Greg Berlanti work on the series, which includes Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Wole Parks, and Sofia Hasmik.

The CW app is currently available to stream Superman and Lois. See the trailer for the second season below:
