Simone Kessell, an Obi-Wan Kenobi star, has joined the cast of Yellowjackets Season 2 as Adult Lottie Matthews. Courtney Eaton was also announced, who played the teen version of Lottie in the series' first season.
The actress who played Princess Leia in HBO's Obi-Wan Kenobi series has received an AACTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress, as well as Andreas, Burning Man, and The Informers.
Yellowjackets follows a high school soccer team that survives a plane disaster and finds themselves deep in the Canadian wilderness over the course of 19 months. The series is divided over two timelines, with the second-most streamed series in Showtime history including Juliette Lewis (The Hateful Eight), Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything), Ella Purnell (Shameless), Sophie Thatcher (Prospect), Steven Krueger (The Originals) and Warren Kole (Shades of
Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson have worked together on the Netflix series Narcos and Narcos: Mexico as well as AMC's Dispatches From Elsewhere. Both Lyle and Nickerson serve as executive producers on the project alongside pilot director Karyn Kusama and Drew Comins of Creative Engine. The second season of the series will begin production later this month in Vancouver.
Season 2 of Yellowjackets has yet to be released, but showrunners Lyle and Nickerson are aiming for an early 2023 release. Check out an official trailer for the first season here.
