In the teaser for 'The Greatest Beer Run Ever,' Zac Efron travels to Vietnam ...

In a new teaser for The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Zac Efron seeks to send a powerful message to his overseas friends by bringing them beer in the midst of the Vietnam War, which is as heartfelt as reckless. The film, which is based on the New York Times bestseller The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty, and War, will be released on September 30.

Chickie, a 26-year-old Vietnamese man, realizes that he has nothing to do with his life other than to give him a beer. In the process, photographer Arthur Coates wants to show people at home the horrors of war and the people caught up in it.

Chickie's polite gesture attracts the admiration of some from his neighborhood, while others are dissatisfied with his attempts to bring levity to a war zone he doesn't really understand. Peter Ferrelly, the director of Green Book, wrote the screenplay for Skydance Media with the help of Brian Currie and Pete Jones. Efron and Crowe are joined by Jake Picking, Will Ropp, Archie Renaux, Kyle Allen, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, and Bill Murray.

With this project, Ferrelly seems to be bringing all of his experience from his filmmaking career to the table. With Green Book, he made a significant move in the other direction, focusing entirely on drama. He'd eventually merge both in Loudermilk and Bobby Mort, but now he's taking the dramedy route to the big screen, showing off his talent for blending both genres.

On September 30, The Greatest Beer Run Ever will be released in cinemas and on Apple TV+. See the trailer below:
