Season 2 Trailer for 'Abbott Elementary' Shows the Teachers (Mostly) Ready for School ...

Abbott Elementary, an ABC comedy series, is gearing up for its second season. With just over a month to go, the first looks are finally coming in, with a brand-new teaser and poster.

Quinta Brunson as Janine at the center, Tyler James Williams as Gregory, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson, Chris Perfetti as Jacob, Janelle James as Ava, and Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara. The two actors sit, appropriately enough, in a school bus, with a complementary tagline reading, "picking up where they dropped off."

Abbott Elementary is a mockumentary-style series set at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia. Season 2 will provide a more in-depth look at the teachers' personal lives after a long day at work.

Brunson has won four Emmy nominations since its initial premiere last year.

Abbott Elementary strives to serve the greater community by providing a "Think Outside the (Lunch) Box" program in April. The Abbott Elementary program aimed to raise awareness about food insecurity and donate 150,000 meals to Feeding America. During this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Abbott Elementary activation provided attendees with an immersive experience and raised money for nationwide Scholastic wishlists.

Brunson directs the programming of Abbott Elementary, which is created, written, and executive produced by him. Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern, and Randall Einhorn are some of the series' starting on August 20.

Abbott Elementary will air on ABC on Wednesday, September 21. Season 1 of Hulu is now available. Check out the new poster and promotional below:
