Paramount+ has announced that production on School Spirits has officially begun, an original production by the streamer that continues to grow its list of young adult movies. Additionally, Paramount+ has unveiled the whole cast for the afterlife drama that will be led by Peyton List (Cobra Kai).
School Spirits will follow List's character, a high school student who finds herself trapped in the afterlife, as she joins forces with other students trapped with her in the afterlife to investigate the circumstances that led to their disappearance. The latter is expected to be published in the fall of 2023 by Clarion Books/HarperAlley, an imprint of HarperCollins Children's Books.
Kristian Flores (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), Spencer MacPherson (Degrassi: Next Class), Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), Nick Pugliese (Dramarama) and Rainbow Wedell (The Bureau of Magical Things) will also play in the series in guest roles as Mr. Martin and Sandra Nears.
School Spirits will star Oliver Goldstick of Pretty Little Liars and Bridgerton as showrunner as well as executive producer. Max Winkler (Cruel Summer) will direct the series on the director's seat.
School Spirits is currently being produced in Vancouver, with Paramount+ aiming for a release date later in 2023. You can still satisfy your YA craving with the recently released Honor Society, which is currently available on Paramount+.
