"What would you sacrifice to live forever?" these are the answers to those questions in the new teaser for the upcoming AMC+ animated series Pantheon, which will premiere on Thursday, September 1 on AMC+ and AMC's newly-acquired anime streaming service HIDIVE.
Katie Chang, a bullied kid who believes Logorhythms defrauded her recently deceased father David, is portrayed by Daniel Dae Kim. The truth, nevertheless, is that the company has been experimenting with a way to upload and digitize human brains, following a destructive brain scan. David, now a "Uploaded Intelligence," reaches out to his daughter to help him defeat a global conspiracy.
The trailer depicts David's new digital world, while also talking to Maddie through a VR headset. Other Uploads have powers beyond humans' capabilities, such as the ability to change their appearance, fly at supersonic speeds, and a new world. The conflict in both the real and digital worlds is nearing a boiling point, threatening to escalate into a full-blown World War.
Pantheon has an all-star ensemble cast of voice actors, including Paul Dano as Caspian, Rosemarie DeWitt as Ellen, Taylor Schilling as Renee, Ron Livingston as Waxman, Chris Diamantopoulos as Pope, Raza Jaffrey as Chanda, and William Hurt as Stephen Holstrom.
