10 Highly Anticipated Films We Can't Wait To See In SDCC 2022 ...

The San Diego Comic-Con is a haven for us geeks of all kinds. Whether you're a movie enthusiast, TV fan, gamer, comic book enthusiast, cosplay enthusiast, or all of the above, there's no doubt that the global phenomenon that is SDCC has evolved somewhat over the years.

The trailers for DC's Shazam! Fury Of The Godsand Teen Wolf: The Movie are well-known for releasing anticipated movies, games, series, and more. This year, SDCC 2022 gives us an insight into what the Marvel Cinematic Universe will look like in the coming three years.

'Black Adam'

Although many fans were disappointed by the absence of Warner Brothers panel updates at SDCC (nothing on The Flash or any potential Batman spin-offs), the films we did get still sparked interest among fans. The trailers for DC's two live-action projects, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods and Black Adam have been released.

Due to the WB's changing schedule, Black Adam will not only introduce us to Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, but also to the Justice Society. However, the film will now be released on screens in October. Dwayne Johnson will play the super strong antihero in the film on October 21st, 2022.

'Teen Wolf: The Movie'

The original cast of Teen Wolf: The Movie will be reunited, providing a challenge for Scott McCall as he strives to live and work after the final season's events and a time jump to 2026.

From the return of cast members and the surprising return of season three's antagonist, The Oni, to a fresh big bad, we only have a few glimpses of what the plot might involve. When Teen Wolf: The Movie arrives on Paramount+ in October 2022, we may expect to see our favorite wolf pack back on screens.

'Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves'

Fans and players of the popular role-playing fantasy game can be reassured that the game will be given a new live-action film. This time, however, does not have a connection to the 2000-2012 trilogy.

The trailer for Honor Among Thieves, which was unveiled during the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, isn't quite clear what the film will have in store for fans of the well-known fantasy game D&D. The film isn't expected to be released until March 3rd, 2023.

Shazam!Fury Of The Gods'

At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the sequel to the surprising comedic 2019 film, Shazam!, showed off more information about the antagonists that are likely to unleash godly destruction upon Billy Batson (Zachary Levi) and his friends. From a subtle nod to the Fast and Furious movies to a popular character comedy, the superhero sequel is sure to be a wild ride.

Black Adam's release was pushed back from a later date, but the sequel to Shazam! was the only Warner Brothers project to be pushed back from its original release date in 2023. The sequel to Shazam!

'Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania'

When asked fans to see Phases 5 and 6, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige revealed a star-studded lineup for what's to come next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania will follow the events of Ant-Man And The Wasp, Avengers: Endgame, and Loki season one.

When Ant-Man And The Wasp launches on February 17th, 2023, we know that Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and her parents, Hank and Janet (Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer), will be exploring the Quantum Realm in more depth than previously imagined.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3'

Our a-holes are returning to the big screens! After Thor: Love And Thunder received mixed reviews, it's safe to say we're looking forward to seeing how the GotG's third stand-alone film plays out with the return of our goofy Guardians. Written and directed by James Gunn, we're eager to see what he has in store for us.

Sadly, we do not know much about the plot of the upcoming Phase 5 project. However, an IMDb brief summary states, "Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that might spell the end of the Guardians if not successful." 'Blade'

After fans have been begging for a new Blade film with the iconic vampire hunter for years, Marvel revealed that a new film would be in the works at San Diego Comic-Con. It is known that Mahershala Ali, a multi-Oscar winner, will play the title character and that Bassam Tariq has been hired by Marvel to direct.

Fans of Marvel have wanted a new Blade film for what feels like an eternity! Sadly, they will have to wait a bit longer since Marvel announced that the film would not be released until November 3rd, 2023, marking the sixth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 5.

'John Wick Chapter 4'

The John Wickfilms are well-known for being terrifying in places, and it's reasonable to assume that the next installment will not differ on that front. Filming was completed a few years ago, and all we have to do now is wait to see Keanu Reeves returning on the big screens.

The film, originally scheduled for release in May 2021, was postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The fourth installment of John Wick is now scheduled to be released on March 24th next year, almost two years later than planned.

MCU Phase 6

The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars were revealed on May 2nd and 2025, respectively.

Feige announced to fans at Comic-Con that a standalone F4 film would be released as part of Phase 6, despite its unclear plot. The film will be released on November 8th, 2024.

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'

After the devastating loss of Chadwick Boseman to a battle with colon cancer in 2020, Marvel decided not to remake him.

After the death of King T'Challa, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will see the Wakanda's leaders unite to fight for and protect their land. The next chapter in the King of Wakanda's story will be released on November 11th, 2022.
