A$AP Rocky, the rapper accused of assaulting a former friend, is now charged ...

A$AP Rocky, a rapper, has been charged with assault in the November 2021 shooting of a former pal in Hollywood.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascons office, a rapper, who's real name is Rakim Mayers, faces two charges of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, as well as accusations of personally utilizing a firearm.

Mayers, 33, is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

In a statement, the disposal of a firearm in a public location is a serious offense that might have resulted in devastating consequences not only for the individual targeted, but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.

My office concluded that the inclusion of a special firearms charge in this case was appropriate, and that the announcement was appropriate.

The shooting took place on November 6, 2021, following an altercation in Hollywood.

A$AP Rocky is accused of striking twice with a revolver, only to hurt his former pal, who was only marginally injured. The rapper and two other individuals then fled the scene.

After returning from a holiday with singer Rihanna in Barbados, he was detained at the Los Angeles International Airport earlier this year. The two celebrities have a kid.

Rihanna is concerned about the A$AP Rockys Court hearing, according to a website.

A$AP Rocky is accused of assaulting a friend after almost nine months.

On his return from a vacation with Rihanna, the actor was detained at Los Angeles International Airport in April. Three hours later, he was released after making $550,000 (421,000) bail.

Several firearms were discovered at Mr. Mayers' house while serving a search warrant following his arrest.

Terell Ephron, a member of the hip-hop collective A$AP Rocky Mob, identified himself as the victim and filed a lawsuit against his former buddy last week, alleging assault and mistreatment, negligence, and mental illness.

Mr. Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, claims that Mr. Mayers lured him to an unnamed Hollywood address to resolve a disagreement.

Following a verbal disagreement, Mr. Mayers grabbed a pistol and purposely aimed it in the direction of [Mr. Ephron].

According to court filings, Mr. Ephron was hit by a bullet bullet/fragments in his left hand and required medical treatment. He is suing for at least $25,000 (20,750).

The Los Angeles Police Department is still looking into the situation.

In July 2019, Mayers and two of his bodyguards were arrested, accused, and found guilty of assault in Sweden. According to reports, the rapper and his security crew punched, kicked, and sliced a guy named Mustafa Jafari on the streets of Stockholm, causing many wounds and a shattered rib.

Mayers and his crew claimed they were in self-defense during the trial, but the court sided and sentenced them to conditional sentences, which meant they could escape prison time and return to the country as long as they did not commit a similar offense.

Prosecutors claim that he later shot the pistol twice at the victim, who suffered minor injuries.

If found guilty, the 33-year-old, who has had two number-one albums in the United States, might be sentenced to up to nine years in jail.

For his role in a brawl in Stockholm in August 2019, Mr. Mayers had previously received a two-year suspended term.

As A$AP Rocky, he was one of the best-known breakout artists of the 2010s, gaining eight platinum songs in the United States, including Wild For The Night, Every Day, LSD, and A$AP Forever.

When Drake praised him, he has collaborated with musicians such as Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, Skepta, Selena Gomez, and Kendrick Lamar.

Last year, he acknowledged his connection with Rihanna, calling her the love of my life and the one.
