Riot Games continued to demonstrate the new Equipment card type in Legends of Runeterra for the upcoming Awakening expansion today, highlighting removal and regional synergy.
Following the unveiling of the champion Kayn, the second day of LoR Awakening spoilers revealed a total of seven cards. Each region is expected to have Equipment support, making today's reveal of Silence and Suppress a must-have for archetypes opposed to the new card type.
Silence and Suppress is a Demacia spell that costs only one mana to cast at Slow speed. It prevents a units Equipment from returning to a player's hand, which it would if the unit itself was destroyed instead.
Hush is a Targon spell that has seen a lot of play since the Call of the Mountain release, costing three mana to Silence a unit for that round at Burst speed. Silence and Suppress have a much lower mana cost to cast, but are slower than Burst, creating space for a variety of interactions to take place prior to the spell's resolving.
Silence and Suppress is the only LoR card that silences a unit for only one mana.
Mistfall is a three-drop Landmark that draws one Equipment card upon being summoned, replenishes one spell mana the first time an ally becomes equipped, and grants that ally +1/+0 in stats.
Only one item was shown in the LoR spoilers, showing Gatalyst V1.0. It's a P&Z Equipment for three mana that increases the damage from your spells and skill by one. Bilgewater received the Loaded Vessel, a five-drop Fast speed spell that removes and has card advantage.
Hexbliterator, a six-cost Fast speed removal spell in the P&Z region, was also revealed today, as the unit gets Obliterated.
When the Awakening expansion is released on August 31, players may try all of these LoR cards.
