Doctor Who has been added to the 2023 Universes Beyond schedule by Magic: The Gathering ...

Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond is expanding its IP partnerships in 2023, with the addition of Doctor Who, a BBC series that will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.

Wizards of the Coast will expand on its Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond IP collaborations with the BBC and a Doctor Who set that includes every Doctor, companion, and villain from the previous 60 years.

In conjunction with the 30-year anniversary of MTG, the BBC will commemorate 60 years of Doctor Who. Doctor Who isnt a full set, but it will be released at the same time during the third quarter of 2023.

Players may expect a total of four Precon Commander decks that include many of the show's companions, villains, and Doctors from the last 60 years. Content may also include characters for the upcoming season that haven't been released to the general public at the time of writing.

In the Wizards Presents stream, all cards from the MTG Universes Beyond Doctor Who set are legal to play in Eternal formats, but not tournament-legal formats. No colors or commanders for the four Precon decks were revealed. Further information will be released closer to the sets launch date next year.
