In 2022, how will you earn Overwatch League tokens? ...

Earning Overwatch League tokens has never been easier in 2022. Before YouTube Gaming streamlined its drop system, fans had to take a few additional steps to earn tokens, like watching only on the Overwatch League website or mobile app.

Overwatch League tokens may be used to purchase team skins and exclusive cosmetics in the game. The easiest way to earn these tokens is through watching games on YouTube, although they may also be purchased in-game.

Connect your account to YouTube

To earn and receive tokens, your account must be linked to a viewing platform for you. PC players already have an active account, which is used to log into and launch Overwatch, but console players will need to link their accounts to before they may earn tokens.

Head to YouTube and navigate to Connected Apps on the left-hand side. (If you cannot see it, use our shortcut link.) Scroll down and locate the link, then tap Connect. The last step is to authorize the connection, after which you'll have all set to collect Overwatch League tokens.

Note that you will not be able to connect to if you have a brand account on YouTube. YouTube requires a personal account to connect applications.

Look under the broadcast window when the Overwatch League is live. If your account has been correctly linked, there should be a diamond logo that says Connected. If you see the logo, you're earning tokens.

Watch live matches and Encore games

After all of the above steps are completed, you may begin earning tokens by watching live games whenever they begin. For every hour of viewing, you earn five Overwatch League tokens.

Even with breaks, YouTube keeps track of continuous viewing. For example, if you watch 45 minutes of an early East region game, that watch time counts towards a full hour if you return during West games later in the day.

Tokens may only be earned during live games. Views of Overwatch League VODs will not count.

Overwatch can earn tokens by purchasing team skins for heroes. Each team skin costs 100 tokens and comes with a home and away version of that skin. Occasionally, exclusive cosmetics like the Royal Knight Mercy skin can be purchased with tokens.
