Halo Infinite is the sixth mainline Halo series entry and a return to 343 Industries. With a name like Halo Infinite, you'd expect the game to be an open-world affair. But the reality is a little more complicated.
Is Halo Infinite open world?
The world in Halo Infinite is open, but it isn't available until after the second mission. Zeta Halo is a vast world to explore, but most missions are fairly straight forward.
After this, you have the mission laid out on a tactical map, which you can travel to between missions. However, once you get to a mission location, you're usually tasked with going underground or exploring forerunner structures. These missions happen within Halo Zeta, but once you've completed it, you'll have to follow the set parameters.
Halo Infinite's Skulls
The open world's main focus is on findingSkulls. These are scattered throughout the open-world, and not necessarily on the same track as the missions. Forerunner artifacts are also hidden, as are some upgrades in the form ofSpartan Cores.
Despite the fact that Halo Infinite is an open-world game, the campaign is not open world and isn't affected by it.
