Peter Davison will soon be replacing his sonic screwdriver with a scalpel in Sky's medical sitcom Bloods.
Tristan Farnon, a British actor, was famously played by the BBC's All Creatures Great and Small, but he is best known for his role as The Doctor in the long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who.
Although he will soon appear on screen as a different doctor altogether as he performs in season 2 of Bloods.
Davison will take part in a second episode of the new series alongside Truthseekers star Samson Kayo and Absolutely Fabulous star Jane Horrocks.
When Maleek (Kayo) and Wendy (Horrocks) are called out to a medical emergency, he'll play a retired doctor who assists paramedic duo Wendy (Horrocks).
Davison isn't the only new face to Bloods in season 2, as Katherine Kelly will play the acting counsellor at South Hill Ambulance Depot.
Sky also announced the casting of Davison and Kelly, and also that several familiar faces would be returning for the second season.
Adrian Scarborough, Ted Lasso star, Motherland actress Lucy Punch, Aasiya Shah of The Mighty Boosh's Julian Barratt, and Stath Lets Flats star Sam Campbell are all set to appear in new episodes.
Fans of Bloods can already see the new episodes as Sky has released a teaser trailer for the series' comical plots.
Bloods season 2 premieres on Sky Comedy on Thursday, September 1 at 10pm. Season 1 is available on Sky and NOW.
