Jesse Eisenberg of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has expressed his thoughts about a possible DC comeback for him in the role of villain Lex Luthor.
In the 2016 film directed by Zack Snyder, Luthor first played the role of Luthor. In 2017's Justice League, he reprised his role briefly.
"I'd be surprised if I ended up in a DC film, but it would be a pleasant surprise," Eisenberg said recently on Deadline.
The actor admitted to not being a comic book fan, stating that the role he thought was a great role in a "really commercial" film.
"Listen, I'm not a comic book enthusiast." Eisenberg said the experience was not a role I'd envisioned since childhood. It was a chance to play this great character that this great writer created. I loved doing that."
"To play it is a pleasure, and to not play it isn't something I'll be ashamed to tell my kids," says the author, because it's not a major genre in my life, despite the fact that I enjoyed it.
When You Finish Saving the World, Eisenberg's directorial feature debut, is currently on the festival circuit after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year.
Julianne Moore and Finn Wolfhard of Stranger Things star as a mother-son duo constantly clashing over their different views of the world.
Next, the Vivarium actor will direct a drama starring Kieran Culkin of Succession. He and Eisenberg will play estranged cousins who travel to Poland after their grandmother passes away, before embarking on a Holocaust adventure.
