Rick Riordan and the 'Percy Jackson' cast commemorate the Demigod's birthday on set in a new image ...

The release of Percy Jackson and the Olympians might be a long way off, but if it's up to the producers, we can expect regular updates on the series. Today, Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen) posted a photo on Instagram that shows the new kids at Camp Half-blood having a good time on set. The title character's discovery that he is the demigod son of Poseidon leads him to attend a summer camp with other

Simhadri posted the photo in recognition of Percy Jackson's birthday, and congratulated Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) for recognizing the fictional event for the first time in character. Annabeth Chase, the boys' best friend, will be played by Leah Sava Jeffries, who recently faced many online bullying and racial comments due to some fans of the show.

Simhadri will play friendly satyr Grover Underwood in the upcoming adaptation, but novel series writer Rick Riordan, who is keeping an eye on the process, has assured fans that the series will be faithful to its source material. The 2010 and 2014 films highly disappointed fans due to the disregard with the books' narratives, which ended the franchise's run due to poor box office statistics.

Logan Lerman, the original live-action Percy Jackson star, commented on the story's release on a streaming platform, and stated that he is both thrilled and interested to see it. He also stated that Riordans involvement is fantastic because the author often updates his own website on whatever projects he's working on.

Every day, they are putting the fire to their performances, while also proving to be having the time of their lives, which is fantastic! I am certain there will be a birthday cake on set later today, if so!

Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Charlie Bushnell, and Timm Sharp will star in the upcoming series. Percy Jackson and the Olympians have no release date scheduled yet, but Riordan has informed fans that Disney+ is planning a release date until early 2024.
