In anticipation of the new spinoff series Andor, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be rereleased in 150 IMAX theaters throughout the United States and Canada for one week from August 26.
The 2016 Star Wars prequel, which depicts a group of Rebel spies stealing plans for the Death Star, will be shown along with an exclusive preview of footage from Andor ahead of its debut on Disney Plus on September 21. Rogue One has also been digitally remastered by IMAX using its own remastering technology for this special presentation.

Andor takes place five years before the events of Rogue One and follows Diego Lunas' character from the film, Cassian Andor, as the program chronicles the early days of the Empire's rebellion.
Tony Gilroy, the screenwriter of the Bourne films and the writer-director of Michael Clayton, was hired by Disney to rework parts of the Rogue Ones script and direct reshoots after the credited director Gareth Edwards left the production.
The Star Wars Story series of spinoff films was abandoned by Disney and Lucasfilm, instead repurposing a proposed Obi-Wan Kenobi film as a Disney Plus series. However, Rogue One's reputation has grown since its release, and it is considered as one of the finest Star Wars films of the modern period.
