Amandla Stenberg Defends Response to Critic's Bodies Over Cleavage Remark: This Disquishes Me

Amandla Stenberg Defends Response to Critic's Bodies Over Cleavage Remark: This Disquishes Me ...

Amandla Stenberg wants to see her body in Bodies Bodies Bodies rather than critics.

Pete Davidson, Lee Pace, Maria Bakalova, Myhala Herrold, and Chase Sui Wonders star in the A24 Gen Z comedy slasher film, which doubles as a 95-minute commercial for cleavage, provoking actress Stenberg to send a direct message to Wilson on Instagram.

Stenberg said your review was excellent. Maybe if you had your eyes on my tits, you would have seen it!

Wilson replied, "You're a fantastic person." I'm generally a big fan of your work, but this certainly is something. I'm hoping for you the best in your career and life. Before blocking Stenberg, please have a nice night. "It's weird when homophobia comes from inside the house, but this is something."

Wilson continued, Me: (spends one line of a 500-word review facetiously rebutting how A24 permits young women to sell information) Random men on twitter dot com and also, apparently, amandla stenberg: Local Dyke Cannot Stop Talking About Boobies.

Stenberg shared an Instagram Story to clarify her message to Wilson.

I just wanted to get on here and say hi to the Acolyte actress who started out as a very naughty girl and sent me a DM that I thought was funny, and she described it in her review as a 95-minute commercial for cleavage, which I thought was hilarious. It's a really incredible experience that I get to experience.

Alright, OK, listen, I thought this line was funny. I was also interested to know what Lena would say to such a statement, but Lena decided to publish it and declare that she is homophobic, which is my experience as an actress. At this point the amount of commentary I have received on my boobs is so great, and this has continued since I was a teenager.

Stenberg continued, I may very well be wearing a t-shirt, because of my boobs, there will be some sort of sexualization or commentary on my chest in this film. I know that when Im wearing a tank top, I'll get some cleavage, because I've boobs. I'm sure Lena was attempting to sway young women to gain attention to their newspapers. I understand the motivation.

I can tell you that I wore this tank top in this film because I and the costume designer thought it would suit the character very well. I get tired of people talking about my chest in Hollywood. It's not unusual to have boobs above an A or a B cup in my time as an actress.

Anyways, Lena, I thought your article was funny, and I did not mean to enrage you, and I did not mean to do anything harm to you. You are allowed to critique my work, and I am allowed to have my criticisms of your work, and that is A-OK with me. And I wish you the best.

Stenberg retweeted Wilson's tweet with the following caption: "I'll change my bio to Local Dyke who can't stop talking about boobies if you will?"
