WB Montreal has announced that the upcoming multiplayer game Gotham Knights has officially gone gold, and in almost every case, it will not be delayed until 2022, the year of delays. Hogwarts Legacy, Marvels Midnight Suns, and the unannounced Assassins Creed Rift have all been delayed within a month or two of each other due to the inconveniences of working from home and other pandemic-related issues.
The fact that WB Montreal is slowly showing off more and more of the game in the past few weeks, including new character trailers and sharing details about the leveling system and how skills work.
Oh, and Batman is dead. There's that too. Pennyworth, that's how this superhero story is.
Gotham Knights is nothing short of ambitious. Not only is it removing familiar characters with abandon, but the development team is also looking for ways to make Gotham City feel fresher while paying respect to its legendary past.
Level designer Kristofer McMahon mentioned that we made a very large Gotham City. But what makes Gotham Knights special is the density. The families lived there. And then, we built around that. There are a lot of areas that are sort of stuck in time.
