Spoilers for Station 19 are here.
Eva Vasquez of Kelly Thiebaud has been brought back from Station 19 for the sixth season.
Eva, who has been missing from Grey's Anatomy for two years, is the wife of firefighter Rigo Vasquez, and a fiery affair with Jack Gibson sent shockwaves through the Seattle Fire Department.
ABC has provided a sneak peek at the comeback of the character (via Deadline): "Misery loves company, and Eva finds solace with someone from her past."
After the outline was handed over, it was recently reported that a Station 19 script contained many racist remarks against people of Latino descent. Showrunner Krista Vernoff is said to have paused the virtual writing room.
The subsequent employee email from Vernoff stated how "recent harm and systemic concerns" would be discussed in a Zoom meeting, which happened earlier this month.
"We will not be collaborating on anything creative until that happens," Vernoff said.
"We will not continue to operate as usual until the recent harm and systemic problems have been addressed and healing have begun. If you are on script or outline please work on your own for the time."
The company Shondaland, owned by producer Shonda Rhimes, was also responsible for Bridgerton's statements.
"As a company, it is in our DNA to constantly review the culture of our productions and to quickly make adjustments if and when they aren't up to Shondaland values," it read.
"A recent incident in the writers' room at Station 19 provided us with opportunities to reimagine the structure of leadership in the name of fostering a more respectful and inclusive workplace."
Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 will be renewed on ABC in the United States on October 6, with selected episodes available on NOW and Disney+.
