Since it was originally released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received a number of updates and crossovers, and the development team has today announced another one.
This time around, it's collaborating with Journey, an indie adventure game that was originally created by thatgamecompany and Santa Monica Studio. This update will be released next week on August 23rd, and includes a "brand-new crossover boss area".
This new section of the castle, called The Tunnels, is inspired by Journey and has a Bloodstained twist. Once you've walked through the cavernous maze, you'll have to defeat the level's guardian. Defeat it and you'll unlock a unique Journey-style item.
After you have liberated Gebel and unlocked the Den of Behemoths, the entrance to The Tunnels will be visible on the castle map (no, it is NOT IN the Den of Behemoths). Go to the highlighted area on the map and youll see the entrance inside.
This next update (V 1.4) will include some bug fixes and gameplay improvements, including a game update for the Nintendo Switch version that corrects a timestamp error.
