Round 2 of the LEC Playoffs Recap ...

G2 Esports defeated Rogue to clinch a spot in the finals, while Fnatic defeated Misfits Gaming and MAD Lions to clinch their tickets for MalmA.

The LEC playoffs continued this weekend, with the top five teams of the tournament facing off against each other in the upper bracket. In the upper bracket, Rogue would once again face off against G2 Esports, hoping to finally defeat their opponent in the playoffs. Fnatic would have to face off against Misfits Gaming for the final Worlds spot, with the winner having to face MAD Lions with a top 3 spot and a chance to reach the LEC championships on the line.

Match 1: Misfits Gaming 0-3 Fnatic

Fnatic re-equiped with a 3-2 slugfest against Misfits Gaming. The first game went beautifully in their favor as Elias "Upset" Lipp got an early lead in the mid-game, but soon the team regained control and took some 47 minutes and great teamfighting to secure the win.

Match 2: G2 Esports 3-0 Rogue

On Saturday, G2 Esports and Rogue met on the stage, gaining a few fights as the mid-game started for an easy victory. Rogue put up more of a fight and the second game was very close well into the mid-game. However, a single mistake 37 minutes in cost Rogue the game.

Rogue turned the tables with a big teamfight 15 minutes into the game, winning another unblemished 3-0 series. Despite some off-meta picks, G2 made a decent start to the final game.

Match 3: MAD Lions 1-3 Fnatic

Fnatic held off a MAD Lions comeback, grabbing an early lead on the map and securing a victory in under 20 minutes. In the next game, however, MAD showed they aren't to be taken lightly, grabbing a massive early advantage from wingman Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla.

Fnatic started the third game well again, but a crucial teamfight 23 minutes in saw the game slip away from them. It was another key teamfight and another strong performance by Fnaticas jungle and AD Carry that led to an ace 30 minutes in and the victory shortly afterwards. Fnatic expected the aggression to stop, but they were mistaken.

The playoffs will last till next week as Rogue, Fnatic, and G2 Esports travel to MalmA for the finals. Fnatic, Rogue, and the finalist will take on G2 Esports as they defend their LEC crown.
