Viserys will face a slew of major decisions as he chooses his next heir, according to the promo aired tonight. His brother Daemon (who has some influence), his very ambitious daughter Rhaenyra, and his almost-three-year-old son Aegon, who will not be ruling anytime soon.

Nonetheless, we also know that the King remains bound by a certain degree of tradition; it may not be something that he enjoys, but it certainly is something that he understands. It reflects a certain extent of what he sees, for better or for worse.
What makes things all the more difficult is a sabotage plot that might bring about the same catastrophe as the succession of an heir. There is a great deal of conflict ahead, and some of it might result in a change in power balance.
For the time being, we know 100% that House of the Dragonis is firing on all cylinders. This is exactly what we wanted from this program prior to its premiere.
